Use cases

Instagram Search API use cases.

Building a creator pipeline from a keyword

Start with a category term, take the ranked accounts, then enrich the shortlist with the Profile and Posts APIs. One search call replaces an afternoon of manual browsing.

Brand impersonation monitoring

Search your brand name on a schedule and diff the result set. New accounts using your name show up here before your customers report them.

Market mapping in a new region

Search local-language terms to find who is already producing content in a market you are considering entering.

FAQ

Instagram Search API FAQ.

Is the ranking the same as in the app?

It reflects the public ranking Instagram serves, which is personalised in-app and not personalised here. Treat it as a relevance order, not a popularity chart.

Can I search posts, not accounts?

Use the Hashtag Scraper for content discovery. Account search and hashtag-post search are genuinely different queries.

How many results per call?

One page of ranked results, which is what the public endpoint exposes. Refine the query rather than paginating for more.
