01 · Instagram's ranking
The order is not ours to invent.
A Top hashtag feed comes back in the order Instagram put it in. We never re-score, re-rank or filter — if we did, you would be buying our guess about a niche instead of the platform's.
Instagram only — 5 discovery endpoints, 20 in total
InScrape is a read-only Instagram API that returns public profiles, posts, reels, stories, comments, followers and discovery results as JSON. One API key, no Instagram login and no Meta app review.
16 public-data endpoints with one response contract

Which Instagram API?
The Instagram Graph API and InScrape solve different jobs. Pick from the data you need, not from the word API.
| Need | Instagram Graph API | InScrape public-data API |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts | Accounts you own or users authorize | Any public account |
| Authentication | OAuth, permissions and app review | One x-api-key header |
| Publishing | Supported for eligible managed accounts | Not supported — read-only |
| Private insights | Available for authorized accounts | Never returned |

Reliable by design
Three concrete contracts, each of which you can hold us to in production.
01 · Instagram's ranking
A Top hashtag feed comes back in the order Instagram put it in. We never re-score, re-rank or filter — if we did, you would be buying our guess about a niche instead of the platform's.
02 · Live public data
Every successful response includes requested_at, processing_time_ms and the query that triggered it, so your logs stay easy to audit.
03 · Simple API contract
Same header everywhere, same cursor model on every list endpoint, same error object with an explicit statement of whether you were charged.
Discovery
These 5 Instagram API endpoints start from a hashtag or keyword: hashtag posts, similar accounts, user search and popular search.
Core
These 15 endpoints cover profiles, posts, reels, reposts, tagged posts, comments, followers, stories and highlights. Same key, same error shape, same pricing.
Limits
A read-only public-data API has a hard edge, and knowing exactly where it is saves you an integration you would have had to unpick later.
For AI agents
The whole catalogue is machine-readable. No wrapper code, no hand-written tool definitions.
Pricing
No subscription, no seats, no expiry. Every plan includes every endpoint.

FAQ
An Instagram API lets software read or manage Instagram data. InScrape is the read-only public-data kind: send a handle, post URL, hashtag or search term and receive structured JSON. It does not publish content or return private account data.
No, and that is deliberate. Every endpoint and every field name here exists because someone needed it from Instagram specifically. A shallow second platform would cost you the depth on the first.
Meta issues an app id, a secret and an OAuth access token, not an API key, and they only read accounts you own or that log in to your app. There is no Meta credential that reads arbitrary public accounts. Ours is a single static header.
We return only data that is publicly visible without logging in, and we never touch private accounts or credentials. How you use that data remains your responsibility — check what applies to your jurisdiction and use case.
The Graph API reads and publishes for accounts you already manage, and requires a Business or Creator account plus Meta app review. It cannot read a competitor or a creator you have no relationship with. We read any public account with one header and no review process.
No. You never hand us credentials and we never ask for them.
No published limit. Burst as hard as your queue can push; we shape the load on our side.
One credit per request, two for the heavier endpoints. Credits never expire, there is no subscription, and requests are billed only when scraping actually uses an Instagram or H API resource.
Yes. That is why support answers fast and the scope is one platform rather than five. Billing is explicit: private and missing targets are charged; validation and service failures are not.
Yes. The full catalogue is exposed as an OpenAPI spec and an llms.txt, so an agent can discover and call endpoints without a wrapper you have to write.
Requests are billed at each endpoint's rate, including results served from preloaded data. Documented empty next-page responses remain free. Check credits_charged on each response for the actual charge.
One header, 100 free credits, and no Meta app review standing between you and the first response.
